Top ten things to know about Science in the Evening
  • SIE is a set of science courses in the evenings, not a formal pre-med program.

  • SIE courses are restricted to postbacs enrolled in the SIE program.

  • SIE students are non-degree seeking.

  • SIE course registration is done ONLY through the SIE website, using the course registration form.

  • SIE courses require a strong math background.

  • SIE offers advising and help with application to medical, professional, or graduate school.

  • SIE students can register for daytime courses only on the first day of classes.

  • SIE courses follow the same academic and financial policies as the undergraduate program at UM.

  • SIE courses are charged at in-state tuition rates. Any non-SIE courses will be charged out of state tuition if the student is not a Maryland resident.

  • SIE courses follow the same curriculum, and have the same academic rigor, as courses in the UM degree granting daytime program.
